Our PRESUMPTION or God's PROMISE?

Is a story the same as a Promise? The Bible is filled with stories (narratives) of what God has done in the past. Are we supposed to interpret them as being the same as a Promise from God? Or are they merely stories and not Promises?

It is a Presumption to inaccurately interpret an example of God's dealing with people as His Promise to all people. And we are too often guilty of doing just that. Faith in a Presumption is pointless. Only Faith in God's Word and Promises will bring about His blessing and miraculous power.
